Dr. Lera Gershevich is a licensed acupuncturist and an herbalist. She completed a four-year doctorate program at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago where she graduated with over 3,000 hours of academic education and over a 1,000 hours of clinical practice.
Lera first came to the path of Chinese Medicine through her own experience of being helped by acupuncture and herbs. She knows first hand how important it is to provide the best possible care to her patients and strives to make everyone feel heard and cared for.
While in school, Lera completed internships at Chicago Women’s Health Center and Project Vida. She deepened her education by studying with various practitioners outside the school environment. Lera is currently expanding her knowledge of Chinese herbalism through a graduate mentorship program led by Sharon Weizenbaum.
Before becoming a doctor of Chinese Medicine, Lera practiced as a massage therapist. She has an East Asian focus in her bodywork practice. Lera enjoys incorporating massage into her Chinese Medicine Treatments employing such modalities as Shiatsu and Tui Na. Bodywork can also be used as a treatment for those who are sensitive to acupuncture needling.
Lera provides services in both English and Russian. In her spare time, she loves gardening and growing Chinese herbs. The process helps her connect with the plants and deepen her knowledge of their medicinal properties. She also enjoys spending time with local community and participating in events creating connection with people that live near by.
